Aaaand here’s PART 2 of my favorite photos from the Christmas Tree Farm Mini-Sessions I hosted last week!! I cannot believe the families that joined me that day - I’m tellin’ ya, they were some of the happiest, giggliest, most adorable people I’ve ever met. I feel like the luckiest photog ever! If you missed Part 1, you can find it HERE.
Session 4: Jocelyn, Mike, Nate, Paige
This family just exudes love, laughter and light. I couldn’t help but feel extra cheerful after this session. Thanks for bringing a big smile to my face, Gehrke family, you were such a joy to capture!
Session 5: Ana, Dana, and Conor
And the giggliest family award goes to…..Ana, Dana and Conor!!!! These guys just could not stop laughing and hugging and playing and I couldn’t get enough. They were the very last session of the day and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Such cuties.
Introducing Jameson Joseph Frederick! This little guy is just 2 weeks old and he is already quite the model :) I am OVER THE MOON for Tiffany, Casey and Julianna and the adorable addition to their family. And, as always, I am so honored to capture these special moments for them as a new family of 4. Congratulations Frederick Family!!
I finally took the plunge and hosted my first-ever mini-session event at Ticonderoga Christmas Tree Farm in Chantilly, VA and to say I’m excited about these photos is the understatement of the YEAR!! I can’t tell you how amazing each and every one of these families were. They were so loving and dazzling and photogenic in their own ways, each bringing a new energy to these photos. I feel so lucky to have met all of them!
Session 1 - Kate, Matt and Ethan:
Best way to start an entire day of photo sessions? With a two year old who loves smiling! Ethan definitely wins best smile of the day award - just look at that adorable grin :)
Session 2: Jaime, Sean and Noah:
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a kid more merry than Noah! He was a bundle of energy and made the session so fun! Also, those rosy red cheeks. Love love love!
Session 3: Liz, Gary, Oliver, and Henry:
Talk about a beautiful family. And stylish too! Liz, Gary, Oliver and Henry know how to take a picture, that’s for sure :)
This was my 4th (!!) session with the very adorable Whitt family and an afternoon for the books! I love having repeat families - being able to come back each year and see how they’ve grown is so fun.
When I first did a session with them, Natalie was just a baby and now she is FIVE! And she’s grown into such a sweet, smart, gentle little girl. Her sister, Caroline, is wild and I adore her for it! She has so much energy and is just the most curious little thing. And those big blue eyes - oh.my.gosh.
On top of their adorable-ness, the trees at Fort Ward were so bright and vibrant that day and provided the most amazing backdrop for the photos. Basically, it was one of my favorite sessions of the entire season. Thank you, Whitt family, for being such a delight!!
Nothing beats a session with a cute kid, a funny dad, and a beautiful mom. Especially in Old Town, in the fall (duh!) I had SO much fun with these three. It was pretty frigid out but we managed to have some good laughs and get some great shots! Baby Maren had such a range of funny little expressions (see below…) and she definitely won biggest trooper award for the day. I could totally relate to her when we needed to take a couple of Nilla Wafer breaks and put the hoodie up. Personally, I think she has her priorities straight… :)
My favorite photo from the whole session ^ synchronized yawns!
Hard to believe I’m on year #4 with the Whitts, another Mary Catherine Photography MVP family! Aren’t they the CUTEST? Natalie, their oldest, is a sweet, protective older sister to Caroline, who is as independent and grown as ever. Both girls have the biggest, most gorgeous blue eyes! And Allison and Drew are the most patient, kind, gentle parents I’ve ever seen. Put all of this together and you’ve got the recipe for one perfect photo shoot.
Boy, am I thrilled with these photos. I can’t wait to share the full collection! Stay tuned :)
After this session with Keelin, Alan and Benedict, I’ve decided I want to make backyard family photos a regular occurrence. Any takers?! I think there’s something so special about capturing memories in your very own outdoor space – a place where you play together, laugh together, hang together. A place with true meaning! And with these three, it was no different. I was super thrilled to be invited to their home to take photos. It made everything extra laid back and easy. And we got to run around with the dog!
Thanks, you three, for such a fun afternoon. Capturing your humor and love was such a delight!
The Khoobchandani family is very special to me. Five years ago, when I was just beginning this journey as a photographer, they took a chance on me. At the time, Saavn was just a baby and Jaani wasn’t even born yet! Since then, we’ve done five photo shoots together and each one has been better than the last. It has been such an honor to be able to capture their memories as they grow together as a family. Thanks, Khoobchandani family, for being so sweet, so fun, and making my job so easy!
Here’s the full collection from our session in Montrose Park in Georgetown!
I love family sessions for so many reasons, but I think what I appreciate most is having the opportunity to see the world again through the eyes of a child. And my family session with the Centrellas was no exception! Steve, Lauren, little Oliver and I gallivanted all over Meridian Hill Park – playing in the leaves, stopping to eat (and talk about) animal crackers, watching the skateboarders, reading under the trees, petting all of the dogs…it was just the best. Thanks little Oliver for reminding us all to stop and take in the world around us - big dogs, skateboarders, airplanes, and all!
