Highlights: Caitlin + Brendon's Poughkeepsie, NY Wedding

What an HONOR it was to shoot Caitlin and Brendon's sweet Poughkeepsie wedding!! I've known Caitlin since college and there's really nothing better than having that kind of connection with your bride on her big day. I think it put us both at ease so that we were able to truly be present for the occasion and appreciate the little moments as well as the big picture.

And Brendon - what a GUY. I first met him when we shot their engagement photos at the New York City Transit Museum (THEY WERE THE COOLEST PHOTOS I'VE EVER TAKEN - inside of old subway cars!!) - and he was kind, patient and really game for any wild ideas that Caitlin and I had concocted :) And he was the exact same way on his wedding day: ready for anything, cool as a cucumber, and excited to be marrying his gal!

NOW - I still had a couple of minor freak out moments because of the weather forecast. Originally, we were going to do all of their portraits outside of the Grandview, their GORGEOUS wedding venue right on the Hudson River. But the rain ultimately cancelled our plans. So we had to come up with a backup, and I would argue that our Plan B turned out even more beautiful than our Plan A. We ended taking portraits at the Poughkeepsie train station. Think: old, vintage, and industrial looking. It was literally the perfect complement to their NYC Transit Museum engagement session!! I am so pumped about the way those photos turned out. RAIN, SHMAIN. Amirite??

And lastly, I just have to comment on how much I loved the colors, the bouquets, and the little details of this wedding. Caitlin has been a SUPER creative since the first day I met her and that totally came through in each and every portion of the day. Don't miss their adorable pie tower as well as her gorgeous sage green and pink "Florida-inspired" bouquets below. We did after all meet at the University of Florida!! Girl's gotta get her Floridian on somehow ;)

Thank you SO much to Caitlin and Brendon and their AMAZING family and friends for being so welcoming, so inviting, so flexible and SO so fun!! I thoroughly enjoyed being there for such a special day and I hope these photos bring you right back to that rainy, romantic, wild, dance-filled evening!
