I'm not even sure how to begin writing about Logan and Cody's wedding. It's hard to find the words for what was such a laughter-filled, love-soaked, all-around-beautiful day.
Before I begin - be sure to check out Logan & Cody's Rocky Mountain National Park wedding portraits HERE. They opted to do their official couples portraits the day AFTER their wedding as to fully enjoy their big day. Smarties!
Ok, I digress. Here we go: Logan and Cody's parents *just happen* to live next door to each other. Like, are you kidding me? Are we in a romcom movie?! So of course, they got married there - in their huge yard overlooking the Rocky Mountains. They completely DIYed everything - it was honestly unbelievable what they created. They made their own TABLES, their own centerpieces, the cutest little succulent party favors for the guests and EVEN THE DANCE FLOOR.
Sidenote: there's something so special and romantic to me about the idea of getting married at your parents' house. The comfort, the nostalgia, the ease - it's hard to beat. I LOVED walking into and capturing that atmosphere. I, and I'm sure all of their guests can agree, felt more like a family member than a friend. Logan and Cody both have a very unique way of making you feel THAT special.
The day was a breeze. Logan & Cody seemed as relaxed and ready as ever and when the time came to exchange vows, they shared the most beautiful and thoughtful promises with each other. They opted NOT to have an officiant, but have their closest friends and family share memories, advice, and words of encouragement with the couple. Logan and Cody even got to pronounce themselves husband and wife! That's some cool Colorado law that apparently exists. Colorado is the coolest. Ugh.
After the ceremony, we enjoyed tacos, beer and s'mores under the setting sun. Giant Jenga, cornhole and multiple firepits kept the guests entertained. There was a HUGE dance party under twinkling strung lights that lasted into the night. The day was literally perfect.
It's hard to describe the amount of genuine love that was in the air that day, but I hope it comes through in these pictures. This was such a special experience for me as their friend and as their photographer and I'm so unbelievably grateful that I was asked to do this for them. Thank you Logan & Cody for the gig of a lifetime!
Without further adieu, here are some of my favorite shots from this special day!
